Debut recital recording for Sunwook Kim

Sunwook Kim is delighted that his debut recital recording is released on the Accentus label this week (30 October 2015), featuring two of Beethoven’s greatest piano sonatas; the Hammerklavier op106 and the Waldstein op53.

Beethoven forms a central part of Sunwook’s repertoire and one he feels a particular affinity with. In 2012-13  he presented a complete cycle of the Beethoven sonatas at the LG Arts Centre in Seoul and has recorded the Emperor concerto with the Seoul Philharmonic and Myung-Whun Chung. Sunwook was selected as the first recipient of the Beethoven-Haus Bonn mentoring scheme, giving him unprecedented access to their collection of manuscripts and resources.

A follow up release on Accentus of Cesar Franck’s Prelude, choral et fugue and Brahms’s Sonata No.3 will be available in January 2016.
